To discuss the chapters’ concerns addressed to the national organization and to develop cooperation and camaraderie for all MENA chapters, the United Architects of the Philippines Middle East North Africa Council Summit was held last October 20, 2017, at Hilton Doha, Qatar.
With its theme: Filipino Architects at the Forefront of Global Architecture Practice, the event highlighted the following: Consultation meeting where delegates informed the current condition of the chapter, updated the concerns of nine (9) different Middle East chapters, resolved chapter issues concerning the profession, discussed CPD concerns, and seek help on how Middle East architects develop their professional practices away from home.
The event, which was participated in by 295 architects from different chapters, catered series of seminars given by the well-known personalities in UAP National level. To wit: PRBOA Member and CPD Council Chairman for Architecture Arch. Robert Mirafuente who explained on the CPD simplified and UAP NEVP United Architects of the Philippines – National Executive Vice President Arch. Benjamin Panganiban on RA9266.
Jotun as Platinum Sponsor, Hafele as Gold Sponsor, and Stallion Advertising Company as Minor sponsor supported the summit that was headed by Arch. Wilson Bernardino as steering committee event Head Director (Team Picture) and hosted by UAP Qatar Chapter under the leadership of the current UAP Qatar Chapter President Ar. Melito M. Gomez.
The program was delighted by the grandiose harmony of Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir who rendered Qatar and Philippine National Anthem and other Filipino songs, and serenade with UAP Qatar Chapter own Band the Rkey Band. It was concluded by awarding of plaques, certificates, tokens, and a tribute to the former commissioner Arch. Angeline Chua Chiaco.
